Some pieces ask for nothing and handle everything. The knit is soft, with a slightly fluffy finish you notice as soon as you touch it, and it falls roomy from the shoulder without squeezing anywhere. The sleeves are wide and close in a ribbed cuff, and a thick band finishes the hem. It's the sweater for cold mornings, working from home and Saturdays with no plans.

• Soft, fluffy knit that's comfortable right against the skin and warm without feeling heavy.
• Dropped shoulder and a roomy body that falls loose from top to bottom without clinging at the waist or hips.
• Wide long sleeves gathered into a ribbed cuff so they don't ride up or bunch when you roll them.
• Thick ribbed hem band and a matching crew neck that hold the shape wash after wash.
• Plain from top to bottom, with no print or embellishment, for when the rest of your outfit already has enough going on.

Layer a plain shirt underneath with the hem showing below the ribbing, and add wide-leg trousers or joggers and sneakers. With a sweater this simple, the fun is in the layers, not the accessories.
